The Bicolor Angelfish (Centropyge bicolor), also known as the Two-Color Angelfish or Oriole Angelfish, is a striking marine species featuring a vibrant, high-contrast coloration that divides its body cleanly into a bright yellow front half and a deep sapphire-blue rear half. Accented by a royal blue patch across its crown, a bright yellow tail fin, and blue trim along its lower fins, it is one of the larger dwarf angelfish species. Known for its heavy visual impact, it is a moderately hardy fish that requires a mature, established ecosystem to successfully acclimate.
Tank Requirements
Minimum Tank Size: 55 to 70 gallons or larger; a spacious horizontal layout is critical to give it room to establish a stable territory and reduce stress.
Aquarium Decor: Extensive, well-established live rock networks with multiple caves, arches, and narrow tunnels; it requires a continuous layer of natural microalgae and biofilm across rock faces to graze on throughout the day.
