Tank Requirements
Minimum Tank Size: 75 to 90 gallons or larger; as a fast-growing, heavy-bodied swimmer, it requires ample swimming channels to prevent stress-induced pacing.
Aquarium Decor: Mature, elaborate live rock setups providing deep caves, tunnels, and wide horizontal faces covered in natural turf algae and microfilm layers.

Care and Feeding
Diet: Herbivore; while it will eagerly snap up frozen mysis or brine shrimp, its primary diet must consist of heavy vegetable matter. Feed continuous supplies of dried marine algae (nori), spirulina-enriched flakes, and high-quality herbivore pellets to maintain its bright metallic sheen and overall metabolic health.
Reef Safe Rating: Reef safe with caution; it is an excellent citizen for most coral displays, but if it is left underfed or gets bored, it is notorious for picking at the fleshy polyps of large polyp stony (LPS) corals, zoanthids, and soft leather corals.
Temperament: Peaceful but defensive; it completely ignores unrelated community tank mates. However, all Rabbitfish possess highly venomous spines embedded in their dorsal and anal fins for protection against predators. Take extreme caution when handling the fish or working inside the aquarium, as a sting is intensely painful to humans.
