Tank Requirements
Lighting: Moderate to high (50–200 PAR); while adaptable, brighter light intensifies its fluorescent greens, reds, and ultra-pinks.
Water Flow: Moderate; needs enough movement to sway its tentacles gently but prefers protection from high, direct blasting.
Temperature: 72°F – 78°F (22°C – 26°C).
Salinity (Specific Gravity): 1.023 – 1.025.
pH Range: 8.1 – 8.4.
Care and Feeding
Placement: Bottom to mid-sections of the tank, where it will actively crawl until it finds a deep rock crevice or the interface where rock meets sand to bury its foot.
Diet: Photosynthetic via zooxanthellae, but possesses a ravenous appetite and grows rapidly when target-fed weekly with pieces of mysis shrimp, krill, or chopped seafood.
Temperament: Semi-aggressive; it has a mild sting that rarely harms neighboring corals, does not wander destructively like bubble tip anemones, and happily tolerates being grouped into dense, multi-colored "rock flower gardens"
