Tank Requirements
Lighting: Low to moderate (20–150 PAR); stable, indirect light prevents tissue retraction and bleaching.
Water Flow: Low to medium; just enough movement to keep detritus from accumulating on its oral disc without blowing its flesh flat against the skeleton.
Temperature: 72°F – 78°F (22°C – 26°C).
Salinity (Specific Gravity): 1.023 – 1.025.
pH Range: 8.0 – 8.3.
Care and Feeding
Placement: Bottom of the aquarium, ideally on a horizontal or slightly angled sandbed away from falling rocks and shifting sand.
Diet: Photosynthetic via zooxanthellae, but displays a major feeding response and loves weekly target feeding of mysis shrimp or specialized LPS pellets.
Temperament: Peaceful; it lacks aggressive sweeper tentacles, allowing multiple color morphs to be grouped together safely into beautiful "scoly gardens"
